Through diversification and Innovation we have grown
Keadeen Mountain Farms are a family run farm located in County Wicklow Ireland. Nestled among the Wicklow hills famed for both the amazing scenery and hill walking our family have conventionally reared pure Irish cattle and sheep for generations.
Over five years ago we decided to incorporate growing Hemp on our farm. This has not been an easy task as the knowledge our forefathers had of this plant which once grew in abundance on our emerald isle has sadly long since been lost. We take wellbeing very seriously both in ourselves, in our animal husbandry and in the care of our land. We believe that diversifying into an industry that provides a multitude of health benefits was the correct move for us and for the environment surrounding us.
Now with over 5 years experience of Hemp cultivation we are very well equipped to provide the consumer with the best product to meet their needs. After the years spent researching both the growing aspects and development of our Hemp products we are now offering private tours of Our Hemp farm. Here nestled in a valley with a stunning backdrop of the wonderfully scenic Wicklow hills. We offer tours of our Hemp fields to a symphonic chorus of wildlife that must be heard to be believed.
These are the sights and sounds that greet us as our cattle and sheep graze contentedly in the fields. We begin our oral journey by discussing all things Hemp as we traipse around the farm land until everything makes sense. We love to educate people and could talk away for hours even as we shelter in a barn between the misty Irish showers.
Our tours as well as being educational and informative through discussions and practical demonstrations of uses of the hemp crop also include a sheep herding exercise. Here you will enjoy the antics of our fun loving hard working dogs. Their frolicking and characters for each one is unique. Will bring a smile to any face at the very least, though some onlookers have laughed so hard a tear ran down their cheek.
